I finally loaded Mike's quilt on the frame. This is the first one that is not a practice quilt, Yeah!! I started to use the panto boards until I got to the center...Black thread on dark background is a little hard to see but it does hide all my mistakes. In progress and work on a few hours at a time, we will see. Hope to have quilted this weekend or maybe next.... We will see.

Dog Bite
I had the most wonderful lunch with our youngest daughter today at my favorite sushi place "Kampai" we had a great time. Then stopped by her house for a short visit. Her boyfriend has two little dogs, a Yorkie female and she is so sweet, the other is a male mix of something about 7 pounds. They were friendly enough until I got ready to leave..... The little male decided to bite me, through my pants on the back of my calf..... More of a bite and run..... he bit me than ran away... I have been bit by a German Shepperd, a lab, a mut... all of these were big dogs, I love big dogs.... never been bit by a yapper.... Till now! OHCH!!!!! Since I am on blood thinners, it only makes it worse.... but the pup is ok, no I did not retaliate! Thought about it, my daughter says it was because I told them that they were not dogs... they were rats... LOL guess since I am a BIG dog person not a little dog person

Baby Brother
My sister has inspired me to update my neglected Blog. This past week she has been taking care of our younger bother, day and night, at the hospital. It was fortunate that he had great co-workers that new something was wrong when he did not show up for work.
He had a close call with uncontrolled diabetics and is on the mend. (it will take time) My sister has been with him the whole time, day and night at the hospital and looking out for his needs and care. Faithfully updates all the friends and family several times a day. Kudos's to you my little sister!!!
As she takes care of him I try to take care of me. Having three family members in different hospitals at the same time is tiring for everyone. As my brother gets better every day, I am glad and so glad that he has one of his older sisters to take care of him.

Lacy
Lacy Lola Rose is our 8month old English bulldog. She has had it rough and easy. She is a sweetheart and we received her when she was 9 weeks old. She has a mind of her own but don't they all. lol
She had a foot that was not developing correctly, after x-rays we found out that she had a genetic bone disorder and her right foot and leg were not developing. This did not slow her down. We had her spayed and this did not slow her down either.
Today she is off to the vet as soon as they open and hope she will feel better soon. She can't keep anything down and has the run's. We all know how we feel when we have that.
Lacy is about 40 pounds now and all female!!!!

Mikes quilt
I started another quilt by request of my sister in law. This one is for mikie, was suppose to be done in November 2011, but low and behold, just after starting, I got sick. Yuck. After 2 months and thousands of dollars later, I am on the mend.
I have not blogged in a very very long time, but seeing the awesome job my sister has done on her blog I am inspired again..... We will try. Anyway back to the new quilt with pillow shams even.
It too large to get a good picture on the wall but you get the idea. Now have to get it on the frame and get quilted. Still working on the pillow shams but have to get more thread.

Fathers Day
I guess it is appropriate that I started this special quilt on Mothers day and finished the top on Fathers Day. In the process i have put boarders on my granddaughters quilt and finished the top on my grandson's quilt. I have been busy, with a baby quilt top done for a friend and another for a friend of my son's. since I have been out of my sewing room for so long, it is about time I started finishing what has been a long list of project unfinished.

Mothers Day
This would be the first Mothers Day ever that all my children were not at home. I was lucky and had them all together for Easter, Yeah.
Very Quiet, Shelby (my lab) let me sleep till 7am (very unusual for her), met my sister at the park for a 3 mile walk. Home again after stopping at the store and my dear HB was asleep again. (seems to be doing alot of that this past week)
OK to my sewing room, I started a project during the week all light and dark blues cut on the bias. Special gift for a special person. I put in sappy movies and drank a pot of coffee and sewed and starched all day. In between all the waves of tears, just because! I don't ever think in my quilting years that I have starched and ironed so much. lol. I got 4 panels done and it took most of my weekend.
Started dinner for us bout 4pm and Travis showed up about 6 (just in time for dinner) and MJ about 8pm. Had a nice visit then off to bed, had to work in the AM.
This is what I have so far:
Still have lots of work to do!!!
